Muhammad Shazlee improved his pro record to 4-0 last Saturday, with a round one calf-slice submission over Martyn Harris. If fans of the regional scene didn’t know him before, they will now. CSUK’s Chris Simpson was lucky enough to speak to him following the admirable win.
The sold-out K.K Steelmill in Wolverhampton watched on as Shazlee earned yet another finish win.
The fight took place on GTFP 18‘s main card, so the fans had a buzz about them and were in full swing by the time this one came around. Shazlee and Harris met in the middle and the fight was underway, Muhammad got to work quickly and found himself on the ground with his opponent, after Harris spun out of Shazlee’s heel hook attempt he found a golden opportunity for a calf slicer. It was in and there was no escape for Harris. Shazlee’s first fight with Golden Ticket Fight Promotions was a success, here’s what he had to say:
Muhammad Shazlee – Post Fight Interview
Mo on how the calf slicer came about:
“I went for the heel hook and he span out, so I thought I’d come up and try grab the calf slicer.”
Mo gave us an insight into what’s next for him:
“Hopefully a title fight… I’ll probably rest a bit then we’ve got off-season work to do.”

As he’s now 4-0 as a pro, GTFP will surely have big plans for Mo Shazlee, after expressing interest in a title fight next, matchmakers should be looking at giving him a shot at gold. There’s no doubt that Muhammad can finish a fight in every way either, as previous fights on his record show a win via ground and pound, TKO and another submission.
