MMA veteran Nate Diaz has strangely offered himself to fight heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder for his rumored MMA debut. The massive heavyweight has spoken out on his desire to enter the MMA world and leave it to Nate Diaz to call him out first.
Nate Diaz has certainly had a strange year. After his most recent fight in the UFC, a win over Tony Ferguson, in September of last year, the legend of MMA is yet to return to the UFC. However, Nate Diaz has bizarrely entered the boxing scene with the very anti climatic boxing match with Jake Paul. It is now looking like however that he is searching for his return with the world of MMA. This has come from a very unlikely source.
Deontay Wilder also hasn’t had a fight since 2022 and he has never reached the same level of relevancy after his two straight losses to the ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury. Wilder may now be looking for a way out of the Gypsy King’s shadow by switching to MMA. Deontay Wilder recently spoke out about his desire to fight in MMA. This has opened up many opportunities for the heavyweight. However one of the only fighters that he has named is the former lightweight title challenger.
Nate Diaz Calls Out Deontay Wilder
Nate Diaz has fearlessly responded to the heavyweight on his official X profile.
In The post Diaz says to ‘get these contracts written up ASAP’. There is no denying that the two stars want the fight to happen. However the fight does seem rather improbable as not only is there the obvious weight discrepancy but also there appears to be greater options for the boxer
One potential avenue that Deontay Wilder can follow is the route to the ever growing PFL. The only fight that would jump out for the masses would be one of the most exciting match ups possible. The fight would be between the Former heavyweight boxing nightmare Deontay Wilder and the ‘Predator’ Francis Ngannou. This match up would be much more realistic and a much more competitive fight. However what fans may want to see more, purely for the excitement, would be between the Stockton legend Nate Diaz and how his iron chin can handle against the fearsome power of boxing’s boogeyman Deontay Wilder.
