Nikita Krylov takes out Volkan Oezdemir in an extremely entertaining Light Heavyweight scrap at UFC 280.
Round One
After a frantic start which sees both men swinging leather. It’s Oezdemir who get the better of the action, landing big punches and wobbling his opponent several times. After calming down the action Krylov attempts a takedown. Using this as an opportunity to regain his senses. Once back to the centre it Nikita who lands and wobbles Volkan.
This leads to Krylov getting the fight to the ground. Now on the ground Nikita Krylov get the back and looks to sink in a rear naked choke. So close to getting it locked in, somehow Volkan Oezdemir survives and gets back to his feet. He scores his own takedown and lands some ground and pound on top.
Round Two
The second starts just like the first with Nikita Krylov blitzing forward. Both men are landing heavy shots but somehow eating them and still coming forward. Krylov then gets a takedown and looks to work from top. Oezdemir keeps active on the bottom.
They soon return to the feet but only briefly before Krylov drags the fight back to the canvas. Nikita rides the second round out on top.
Round Three
Another frantic start to the round ends with a Krylov takedown. Immense pressure and caution to the win is paying dividends for him. The referee stands the fight back up and they resume swinging.
Krylov has seen a path to victory and is taking it, with another takedown. He controls on top for the rest of the round.
