Nina Drama, the well-known MMA journalist, took a moment to address and clarify aspects of her unconventional interview with UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. In the lead-up to his UFC 295 bout against Sergei Pavlovich, Aspinall engaged in a one-on-one conversation with Nina, which later gained attention due to a sexually explicit question.
During the interview, Aspinall posed a rather unconventional question to Nina, asking if she had ever been involved in an intimate encounter with an MMA fighter. Despite the unexpected nature of the question, Nina responded with a mix of confusion and humor, leading to laughter between the two.
The incident drew criticism, with many labeling Aspinall’s question as inappropriate. In response, Nina shed light on the matter, explaining that Aspinall was merely trying to elicit a reaction. She pointed out that Aspinall often sees her Instagram followers posing eccentric questions and that his intention was not to cause offense.

“I absolutely love Tom Aspinall’s humor! The reason he asked me that crazy question is because we follow each other on IG and he sees all the crazy weird questions my followers ask me. @AspinallMMA is funny AF and he didn’t offend me AT ALL! He was trying to get a reaction out of me and he got a good one lol. I asked him some crazy ass questions too!,” clarified Nina.
She further emphasized the cultural difference in humor, stating, “Tom’s a very funny guy. Great personality. British humor and American humor are entirely different.”
Aspinall went on to secure the UFC heavyweight interim championship with a knockout victory over Pavlovich at UFC 295. With Jon Jones, the reigning champion, still in recovery from surgery, Aspinall now awaits the UFC’s decision on his next opponent.
