OKTAGON 47 is underway, here we’ll preview the main event and bring you the highlights as they happen in Bratislava.
The main event in Bratislava sees a unification bout for the Light Heavyweight division. Karlos Vemola meets Pavol Langer in what promises to be a war of a fight.
Karlos Vemola (35-7-0) is a certified OKTAGON legend, having appeared in 12 events for the promotion. He’s also a UFC veteran, having made 6 appearances between 2010-13. Vemola carries a real finishing threat and has finished most of his fights by way of submission, however, he also has 8 wins by KO/TKO so he has the ability to finish the fight anywhere. Karlos is coming off a unanimous decision win this summer against Alsina. Can ‘The Terminator’ bring the undisputed light heavyweight title back to Czechoslovakia tonight?
His opponent is Pavol Langer (12-9-0), the underdog once again in this fight is looking to upset Vemola. Pavol most recently caused a huge upset in the division by beating Alexander Poppeck via a split decision in Oberhausen earlier this year. This means he now holds the interim light heavyweight title and extends his winning streak to 3 in the organisation. Similarly to Vemola, Pavol has a varied record of finishes between KO/TKOs and submissions, so he’s a threat anywhere.
Given the styles of both fighters, this makes for a very intriguing main event in Bratislava and will no doubt bring fireworks.
