The Fight
A first round that played out mainly on the feet. Each man was patient and laid traps to catch one another. The main story of round one was the leg-kicking games of both. Aubin-Mercier arguably had the better of this landing more frequently and causing a few stumbles out of Ray.
A caught kick from Stevie sees him take Olivier’s back and score a slam takedown with four minutes on the clock. He works on securing a position to work. He maintained control for half the round before Aubin-Mercier returned to his feet.
Back on the feet, the round looks as if it’s about to play out like the first and see us into the third. However, Olivier Aubin-Mercier has other ideas. Landing a hellacious right hook stopping the Scot in his tracks.
