Fighting out of Liverpool, England, the meteoric rise of ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann is nothing short of spectacular.
McCann (11-4) made her professional debut back in 2015, defeating Katy Horlick via first-round TKO. After going 6-1 across the regional scene and Cage Warriors, Molly had the chance to put her name on the map.
At Cage Warriors 90, McCann would knock Bryony Tyrell out in the second round to become the Cage Warrior flyweight champion.
Following the victory, ‘Meatball’ had the chance to compete inside the UFC. To get the chance to fight in the UFC just three years into your professional career is nothing short of spectacular and a testament to the tremendous career of Molly McCann so far.
Currently 4-3 in the promotion, McCann would bounce back from the promotional debut defeat against a tough Gillian Robertson to beat Priscila Cachoeira, Ariane Lipski and Diana Belbiţă.
Unfortunately for the Brit, she would then suffer back to back defeats against Taila Santos and Lara Procópio.
McCann knew that she had to come away with the win against Ji Yeon Kim in her last outing with the pressure on. In what was awarded the ‘Fight of the Night,’ Molly would get back in the win column with an inspiring performance.
Now, the Liverpool native has the chance to pick up her second win in a row on home soil as she looks to climb up the rankings.
