Paddy Pimblett revealed his next UFC opponent with a cryptic message on his YouTube channel.
The Liverpool fighter is looking to fight a ranked contender after impressing so far in his UFC career.
With 2025 set to be a big year for UK MMA, Paddy Pimblett will be looking to put himself into the title picture at lightweight.
Paddy Pimblett Lets Out Cryptic Message Has Fans Speculating His Next Opponent
Speaking on his YouTube channel Paddy Pimblett said; “Nice end to the year, to be honest. “I’m in good shape. People have been speculating about who I’m fighting.
“I’m coming for that belt so I’m looking for higher-ranked fighters. I’m sure yous will see a fight announcement soon enough. I’ve said yeah. The opponent has said yeah.”
It’s what Pimblett said next that really revealed who he could fight next. When ending the video the ‘Baddy said; “See you at the top.” This catchphrase is associated with fellow lightweight Michael Chandler who uses the phrase regularly, especially during his post-fight interviews.
Could We See Michael Chandler vs Paddy in 2025?
It is highly possible the pair will clash in 2025. Paddy Pimblett’s ending to the video adds to the speculation that a future fight with Michael Chandler is possible. The fight also makes sense for both opponents. It is an opportunity for Paddy to beat a big name within the lightweight division and Michael Chandler to beat an upcoming talent to justify his rankings.
Blessed with elite grappling ability this fight will most definitely stay on the feet with both fighters renowned for their ground game. However, if the fight ends up in a fist fight Michael Chandler is by far the heavy hitter of the pair with his knockouts proof of the power the American has.
Despite waiting two years to face Connor McGregor Michael Chandler has now seemingly moved away from that fight. The Irishman exclusively revealed that he was in talks to face Logan Paul in India. Chandler returned to the sport with a unanimous decision loss to Charles Olivera.
