Paddy Pimblett recently discussed his UFC Fight Night London payday. Announcing that he only made 12k to fight and 12k to win as per his contract at the time, the UFC was criticised by the MMA community for Pimblett receiving such a small pay, despite him being such a big draw.
When “The Baddy” fought at the aforementioned London card, though he was in the middle of the main card, he sent the O2 arena insane when he made his walk-out, potentially even the main attraction for the whole card. This was before he finished Rodrigo Vargas in the first round via submission.
When Will Paddy Pimblett Return to the Octagon?
It’s indisputable that the last fight night in London was a spectacle, so much so there is another card set for the UFC’s return to London on July 23rd, 2022. One would expect after the last one that Pimblett would be one of the first names for which the UFC would try to get a fight. However, there is no fight scheduled for Paddy to participate in the event at the present moment, though he doesn’t seem particularly bothered by it.
Speaking with reporters, when Paddy was asked about fighting at UFC in London come July; he said “It doesn’t bother me where I fight to be honest. No matter where or when to fight in the UK, the gate will sell out. I think it’s the same in Vegas, or anywhere else to be honest. It’s that simple.”
Another fighter who made waves at the last UFC London event was Molly “Meatball” McCann. She has just agreed and signed to fight Hannah Goldy at the upcoming event. I wonder why Pimblett doesn’t have a fight agreed yet. Could it be a money issue? Or potentially any other contributing factors?
Pimblett also said; “No matter what, I’ll be getting paid more for my next fight anyway, no matter where it is. Whether it’s London or a pay-per-view in America. I’ll be getting paid more”.
Next Opponent for the Baddy?
In terms of his next opponent, he said “It doesn’t bother me. I’ll fight whoever they put in front of me. Just Sean Shelby picks my fights. Whoever I get sent on a contract, I’ll fight, I enjoy having a fistfight.”
I’m sure fans of Paddy will be eagerly anticipating any announcements for any upcoming fights! Who do you want to see him fight, and when?
