Paddy Pimblett is never one to mince his words. So it’s not surprising to see the die-hard Liverpool fan take aim at former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo.
During the “Pub Talk” podcast with Ray Parlour and Alan Brazil, Pimblett criticised Ronaldo’s now infamous interview with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I’ve seen little snippets of it but he thinks he’s bigger than the club… No one is bigger than the club...he’s a proper raging helmet.”
Behind the scenes footage from after the interview was posted to Paddy’s YouTube channel, as he documented his trip to London as a part of his latest vlog.
On the Pub Talk interview experience, Paddy said: “That was brilliant lad, one of the coolest things I’ve done lad. As I say, just chillin’, havin’ a chat like I’m in the boozer with the lads. You can’t go wrong.”
The producer of Pub Talk, James Long was equally positive about it: “One of the best we’ve done so far, and we’ve had some big names. Noel Gallagher, Vinnie Jones, and yeah he was just brilliant. Mental health – spot on. Loved it mate.”
UFC 282 Preparations
As well as fulfilling media obligations, including Pub Talk, Paddy’s main reason for his journey to London was to get in some training. He sparred with Thomas Paull as part of his final preparations for his UFC 282 bout with Jared Gordon. Paddy lauded Paull as one of the few, if not only fighters in the UK who are willing to spar with him.
Looking to the Future
Whilst UFC 282 in Las Vegas is the next goal for Paddy, he has much bigger plans for his eventual return to the UK. When asked by Alan Brazil where he hopes to have an eventual title fight, he replied:
“Anfield. I’m gonna to bring the UFC to Anfield. I know I am. Dana says we’re not going to do it – there’s no roof on the stadium. He also said 10 years ago we’ll never have women in the UFC. Then a star called Ronda Rousey came along. I am that star. I have come along and will have them doing Anfield in the next five years.”
Do you think Paddy Pimblett will convince the UFC to hold a show at Anfield?
