Paddy Pimblett won’t be fighting at the O2 arena in his next bout. Instead Dana White has stated New York or Boston are likely next for the Scouse Superstar. Pimblett will be happy to hear this, as he has stated he would prefer to fight stateside next.
Talking to the media following his Contender series took place, White stated:
“I think what we do next is we take him to either Boston or New York and he ends up on pay-per-view. Then you bring him to Vegas,”
When asked about possible title aspirations though. He was quick to put a cooler on those discussions while maintaining that he is a star regardless.
“To talk about championship stuff now it’s a little too soon, but he’s got that Conor McGregor vibe. When he walks when he’s in the arena, the way that the fans receive him, the way that the media covers him. The way that the people who search for content.”
The boss then followed on by listening to the impressive social stats of both “The Baddy”, as well as his partner in crime Molly McCann. Pimblett’s wanting to fight in America is due to his want to appear on PPV, with London mainly hosting Fight Night cards. He has stated though, that when Anfield is an option, he will be on the first plane back.
“I know I won’t be fighting in the O2 again, it’s too small. As I say, we will do Anfield, I promise you now. Dana’s said that he won’t do Anfield, but he also said women wouldn’t fight in the UFC years ago and Ronda Rousey came along. He said he won’t do a stadium in the UK, but the Baddy’s come along. So we will.”
