Bellator legend Patricio Pitbull lost his UFC debut at UFC 314 against Yair Rodriguez. This result is far from ideal for the veteran who expressed interest in fighting Alexander Volkanovski. This loss is a fairly big setback for the former Bellator champ who is 37 years old. He showed flashes of his Bellator days however Pitbull looked his age and past his best. But, despite this he is fairly optimistic.
Pitbull Tweets
Following his loss Patricio Pitbull took to social media specifically Twitter expressing himself following his loss to Rodriguez. He was respectful, congratulating his opponent, and hinted at a potential rematch, which seems unlikely; however, it was a nice gesture. Then Pitbull was straight to business saying he has no injuries and is ready for another fight. No doubt Pitbull wants to get back in the win column to set up paydays for these last years of his career.
This does pose an interesting question about where Pitbull goes from here. Given his expressed willingness to fight he will take whoever he is offered. Potentially the UFC could look to make the most off of Pitbull’s name and give him another name in the top 10 or 15. That way, win or lose, the UFC benefit as Pitbull will become a factor in the division or another contender builds their name by beating him.
Regardless who he is put in there with Patricio Pitbull will forever be a legend and we shall see what the future holds. Will Pitbull return to form or continue to fade? Let us know!
