Paulo Costa has very real beef with Khamzat Chimaev ahead of their fight at UFC 294.Costa goes into enemy territory in Abu Dhabi October 21st. The fight will be in Abu Dhabi on October 21st.
Abu Dhabi will play host to a grudge match of sorts between Paulo Costa (#6) and Khamzat Chimaev (#4 welterweight). The pair have been going back and forth on social media for over a year now and their set to finally meet in October.
Paulo “The Eraser” Costa is coming off an epic victory over Luke Rockhold at UFC 278, he won by unanimous decision. Since then Paulo has negotiated a new contract with the UFC and is now ready for the comeback against Khamzat.
Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev has been inactive since his win over Kevin Holland at UFC 279, where he turned the card upside down because of a 7-pound weight miss for a fight against Nate Diaz. Although Khamzat remains adamant about fighting in both divisions, against Costa he’ll make his middleweight debut.
Paulo Costa Details the Khamzat Rivalry
Speaking to MMA Junkie Paulo Costa went into great detail about his animosity towards Khamzat:
“Yes, I hate that dude [Khamzat]. I’m training just to make him suffer not only to beat him. I want to do that in a great style. I put all my skills and my… concentration and focus to be better than ever, physically, mentally, and technically. You know all parts together to help me perform better than ever. I know over there in Abu Dhabi would be a kind of ‘his house’ but I don’t care, I’m going there to take over.”

Costa continued to talk about his camp for the fight:
“This is the most long fight camp I ever did, I train for this guy since January, I think he has as well. So you know we are going to collide, we are going to collide, and it’ll be fireworks on that day”
