Twitter has once again proven to be a strange old place as Paddy Pimblett has invited perennial overeater, Paulo Costa, to Liverpool.
The exchange began with Costa reacting to Pimblett’s fight announcement against Jordan Leavitt for July 23rd in London.
Paddy Pimblett Down to Help
This would be an apparent reaction to the fact Paddy is self admittedly around 200lbs, 45lbs above his fighting weight. He has vowed to get it off in time for the fight, which Costa failed to do last time out.
“The Baddy” went against his nickname and accepted, inviting the Brazillian powerhouse over to Liverpool, and presumably Next Generation MMA to help shed the weight. Far from simply accepting the offer of help, “Borrachinha” decided to instead start a hashtag. After the initial promise, Costa then came up with an idea. Instead of making weight together, perhaps he would like to become partners in food-based crime and protest making weight together.
Paulo Costa – The Greatest 205 lb Middleweight
This was followed up by our beloved Merseyside bound Brazillian tweeting Uncle Chael to inform him of the news. Next, he tweeted out some threats to “Mr Lovato”, a nod to Luke Rockhold’s formal personal life choices. He then retweeted a fan who said he is “The greatest 205 lb middleweight on the planet”.
While it may sometimes be difficult to know what Paulo Costa is thinking, there is no reason to believe Paddy Pimblett’s offer isn’t genuine. Costa is someone who seems to need direction in all aspects, and maybe a change of scenery may help him focus on his fight life. Darren Till seems to vouch for it, and this link-up at the very least should be hilarious.
As of now, Paulo has pinned a tweet saying that Paddy Pimblett will “take him to healthy foods”, which may be the most unmistakable tweet he has sent in weeks.
How many of you would tune into a Paddy and Paulo series?
