Confirmed by the BBC, British Muay Thai standout Dakota Ditcheva has been signed by the PFL. A great pick-up for the American company. Dakota is still super young at only 23 with a wealth of combat experience behind her. A former Muay Thai champion ,she quickly moved into MMA, where she once again excelled.
Dakota Ditcheva
After going 4-0 as an amateur, she didn’t wait long before turning pro. Emulating her form from the amateurs, she has so far gone on to accrue an impressive 5-0 record. Of her five wins, four have been finishes, all via TKO.
With her Muay Thai background and emphatic start, she has quickly become one of the UK’s best Female prospects and will look to show as such on the big stage.
Dakota’s First Fight
Her debut will be on August 20th at PFL 9 in London, headlined by female superstar Kayla Harrison. She’ll be taking on Morocco’s Hassna Gaber (4-1) in a Flyweight contest.
Here is what she had to say about her arrival (per the BBC):
“I could not be happier to have signed with the PFL to take my career to the next level,”
“It’s a dream come true.”
“Fighting on the same card as PFL stars Kayla Harrison and Brendan Loughnane is a dream come true,”
PFL Women’s Divisions
Currently boasting only one women’s division, with that being lightweight 155 lbs. It appears the Professional Fighters League want to expand and add a flyweight of 125 lbs to the mix. With their recent venture into the UK with both a TV deal and two live shows. Dakota Ditcheva could be the perfect person to front the division. Not only helping the PFL but making herself a household name in the process.
It appears that PFL chief Ray Sefo is already thrilled with the signing having this to say:
“Dakota’s outstanding skillset and ability, along with her natural charisma fit, perfectly with the PFL brand of MMA,”
“Coming from a line of elite Muay Thai practitioners, we have confidence in Dakota to go to the very top with the PFL and continue her family’s legacy.”
It appears everyone involved here is a winner.
