Recently it was announced that the PFL will finally land in the UK this August. We now have our confirmed cards for the two scheduled events set to take place on British shores. This first will take place on August 13th and will be held at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena. The second will be seven days later on August 20th which will be at London’s famous Copper Box Arena.
PFL 8 and PFL 9 are the two events that will determine who competes in the final for four different divisions, with eight semi-finals taking place.
PFL 8 in Cardiff
August 13th’s card will be the showcase for the heavyweights and welterweights. On the heavyweight side of the bracket, the two match-ups are as follows.
Denis Goltsov takes on last season’s tournament winner Bruno Cappelozza. While Mirko Cro Cops protege Ante Delija takes on the man with the PFL’s fastest KO Renan Ferreira.
The welterweight semi-finals look like this. Former UFC title challenger Rory McDonald sees Magomed Umalatov who’s coming off a super impressive KO victory. Followed by Sweden’s Sadibou Sy who’ll face Carlos Leal from Brazil.

PFL 9 in London
The second UK fight night will be where we see the featherweights and women’s lightweights compete. The lightweight match-ups are Brazilian powerhouse Larissa Pacheco versus Ukraine’s Olena Kolesnyk. Then one of women’s MMA’s biggest stars Kayla Harrison will compete against Martina Jindrova.
The semi-final fights on the night at featherweight are former finalist Chris Wade, who takes on Britain’s own Brendan Loughnane. As well as one of Brendan’s former opponents Ryoji Kudo who takes on Bubba Jenkins who bowed out at this stage last year.

Two action-packed cards with plenty for MMA fans to be excited about, with these events being a potential success it will potentially open the door for more PFL events to come over to the UK in the future.
