KSW heavyweight champion Phil De Fries defends his title against Ricardo Prasel at KSW 74 on September 10th 2022.
This is the seventh consecutive title defence for Phil De Fries since the 36-year-old won the KSW title back in 2018 by beating Michal Andryszak at KSW 43.
Phil De Fries vs Ricardo Prasel
During his impressive reign as Champion, De Fries holds wins over most recently Darko Stošić at KSW 67, former champion Karol Bedorf, former light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun, Luis Henrique, and Michał Kita.
Standing opposite De Fries on the night will be his opponent, Ricardo Prasel, with an MMA record of 13–3.
Former Chelsea F.C. goalkeeper Prasel made his international MMA debut at RIZIN 10, where he lost to current PFL 2022 finalist Ante Delija by unanimous decision.
Up next for the Brazilian was a win at Immortal FC 10 before he fell short on Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2019, where he lost to Don’Tale Mayes by referee stoppage due to receiving a series of punches on the ground.
Since making his KSW debut at KSW 68, where the Brazilian was victorious over Michal Kita, followed by a win over UFC and ACA veteran Daniel Omielanczuk.
His 2-0 record since joining the promotion was enough to convince KSW bosses that Prasel was worthy of a title shot against the fan favourite from Sunderland, Phil De Fries.
Can De Fries add to the recent success of fellow teammate and Sunderland local Mick Parkin, who recently celebrated a UFC contract?
