The Philippines’ Ruel Panales has already started with the mind games with days to go before this year’s epic Kombat Kingdom show that kicks off in Riffa, Bahrain, on June 19.
Paneles will take on Egypt’s Maysara Mohamed in a high-stakes Flyweight battle that will determine who becomes the flagship name of the division moving forward.
With so much on the line, Panales and his coach Rolando Dy have chosen mental warfare ahead of the epic 125-pound bout and have gone into the archives to find footage that could be potential chinks in Mohamed’s armor.
Ruel Panales Takes to Social Media
Just yesterday, Panales and coach Dy took to social media to play a video of Mohamed’s fight against Iraq’s Issa Salem and India’s Mohammad Farhad.
In which the Egyptian was grabbing the fence – a penalizable offense – in an attempt to negate takedown attempts.
The last clip – which focused on the bout between Farhad and Mohamed, shows the referee stepping in after consecutive fence grabs before warning the Egyptian, who eventually won the BRAVE CF 57 fight via knockout in the second round.
Video Footage: Team Panales Clip
Once the clip had concluded, Panales and a DyIncredible Fighting and Fitness Center training partner briefly mimicked those sequences before coach Dy (acting as the referee) stepped in to “stop the fight”.
Which was then followed up by him turning to the camera with a message for Mohamed: “Hey Maysara! No cheating this time, okay?” Unbeaten in four fights, Panales will make only his second walk to the BRAVE CF cage next week.
In his much-anticipated debut, the Filipino, unfortunately, took an accidental groin kick from Farhad, which led to a No Contest result in their Bantamweight bout at BRAVE CF 66.
He now looks to secure his promotional debut win when he moves down to 125 pounds to compete for honors in his natural weight class against an athlete riding a six-fight win streak.
Mohamed – a former Egyptian Flyweight champion – has been in fine fettle since joining BRAVE CF with two wins and one draw.
Mohamed shocked the world when he knocked out Farhad in what has become one of the biggest KOs in BRAVE Combat Federation’s history.
His exploits in the cage thus far have seen him nominated for the BRAVE CF “Arab Breakout Fighter of the Year” and “Arab Finish of the Year” awards at last year’s BRAVE CF Arab Awards.
He now looks to continue on an upward trajectory when he meets the dangerous Filipino who aims to fly his nation’s flag and make his coach and former BRAVE CF star Dy proud with a big win at BRAVE CF 71.
