Raphael Assuncao shows his experience and takes out a game Victor Henry over three rounds at UFC Vegas 62.
A competitive round one sees each man try to impose their game plans. Raphael Assuncao uses his trademark counter-striking style looking for the lights out blow. Victor Henry is trying to offset the rhythm by throwing more and landing kicks.
Round two starts in a similar vein. However, Raphael begins to grapple and gains success here several times. Catching a kick he manages to land punches and take Victor down. Using his advantageous position well, he lands solid ground and pound that ends the round.
Victor Henry’s corner pulls no punches and tells him he needs to go for the kill. He does this, starting the round well and looking to pick Assuncao apart. Raphael stifles his momentum with another takedown.
Using his experience Raphael Assuncao avoids any major damage and strikes and lands smartly. Rolling back the years Raphael earns the nod.
