Reece McEwan (5-1) is set to make his third appearance under the Cage Warriors banner on Nov. 12 at Cage Warriors 146 in Manchester, England.
McEwan’s Cage Warriors career thus far has got off to a flyer since joining the promotion earlier this year. The bantamweight roster has quickly been made aware of the Scotsman and the threats he possesses.
Nov. 12 will mark McEwan’s third outing in the space of 7-months. The 27-year-old has already finished Sam Spencer at Cage Warriors 136 and defeated a well-respected opponent in Kingsley Crawford by unanimous decision at Cage Warriors 141.
The Griphouse/Inverclyde BJJ representative aims to continue in his quest for Cage Warriors gold in Manchester, and the man standing in his way from achieving that is Next Gen’s, Adam Wilson. Wilson has fought under Cage Warriors once as an amateur and five times as a pro giving McEwan plenty of footage to work with.
With that being said, after a bout falling through for the pair in the past, McEwan claims Wilson is a man he’s had on his radar for some time:
“Obviously, I’ve known about Adam Wilson for a long time. For about 12 months, actually. His name was familiar to me this time last year. I think we got a fight offer, but the fight kind of fell through. So, he’s been on my radar for a long-time.” McEwan told James Lynch
McEwan quickly voiced his respect for Wilson and his team, his past competition, and looks forward to the test that Wilson will bring:
“He comes from a good gym. He’s fought, I think, all of his professional fights under Cage Warriors, and he’s beaten some good guys. He’s lost to some good guys, he’s good everywhere. As I said, he comes from a good gym, he’s game, and it’s a good test for me too.”
