Regian Eersel will make his first ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title defense against a familiar foe on Friday, March 17.
After a closely contested battle for the inaugural belt, “The Immortal” will rematch Sinsamut Klinmee in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 9 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Regian Eersel Vs. Sinsamut Klinmee II
These elite strikers waged a five-round war at ONE on Prime Video 3 last October, with the judges ultimately rendering a split decision in favor of the Dutch-Surinamese star.
It was Eersel’s first Muay Thai bout in four years after dominating the kickboxing ranks, but he didn’t miss a beat and looked comfortable in “the art of eight limbs.”
With the win, the 30-year-old improved his perfect ONE slate to 7-0 and became a rare two-sport king by adding the lightweight Muay Thai crown to his ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title.
Now that he’s blown the cobwebs off his Muay Thai arsenal, “The Immortal” could be even more ferocious in his first defense.

But Sinsamut will be confident in his ability to overcome the small margin of defeat by making a few adjustments.
The Thai slugger earned his original World Title shot with back-to-back KOs of Nieky Holzken and Liam Nolan, but he couldn’t find a one-hitter quitter against the experienced Sityodtong Amsterdam representative.
Sinsamut would change tactics later in the fight, throwing more combinations and low kicks as he battled his way back.
It wasn’t quite enough to win the World Title, but it was enough for ONE’s matchmakers to decide he deserved an immediate rematch.
Armed with more knowledge about each other following their 15-minute encounter, Eersel and Sinsamut will be well prepared for the rematch at the iconic Bangkok venue on March 17.
