As the date draws near for Rise and Conquer at the Rainton Arena, Rhys Robson gears up for his next challenge against Frank Hyslop.
In an exclusive interview, Robson provides insights into his preparation and expectations for the upcoming bout.
“Thankfully there were no injuries from the fight and I was straight back in the gym the following week correcting any mistakes that were made. I’ve been working plenty day and night since.”
Reflecting on his debut draw against Tommy Hunter, Robson sees it as a valuable learning experience, focusing on areas for improvement rather than dwelling on the result.
“I think the fight was a great way to debut, plenty of points to look over and improve upon. As for the scorecard, I think it was a really close fight. We both had our moments, and it could’ve gone either way.”
Despite the draw, Robson relished the experience and remains undeterred, emphasizing his commitment to growth and development.
Rhys Robson Talks MMA Debut
“I enjoyed the experience. It was good fun sharing the cage and having a straightener with a top lad. The main thing was his reach, which has been improved upon, and I know distance won’t be an issue this fight.”
Looking ahead to his upcoming matchup with Frank Hyslop, Robson acknowledges his opponent’s grappling prowess but remains confident in his own abilities.
“I’ve watched his fight, and I like my odds regardless of where the fight ends up. But I know he is a top grappler despite the result, and he shouldn’t be underestimated.”
As anticipation builds among friends, family, and teammates, Robson promises a performance to remember on fight night.
“I think they can all expect the same as I promised and delivered previously: a high-paced, entertaining fight in which I believe ultimately I will have my hand raised.”
