Cage Warriors 142 is set to take place in Ebbw Vale, Wales, for the first time on August 13th. The card will feature both a professional and amateur card. Several pro bouts have already been announced, and the amateur card has now been released.
Roan Crocker v James Wamsley
Roan Crocker will defend his Cage Warriors Academy Wales middleweight title against James Wamsley in the featured amateur bout at Cage Warriors 142.
Crocker won the title all the way back in December of 2021 when he beat Greg Cuthbert via unanimous decision. He went on to defend his title in March after getting the second-round submission win over Rhys Hughes.
Things have only gone up since then for the 22-year-old. He recently won the Four Nations Championships title and proved that he is arguably the best amateur middleweight in the country. Now he’s preparing to face off with a menacing opponent.
Wamsley went 4-1 in June after defeating Jack Haycock in the same venue he’s set to go for his first title. The Englishman is still relatively new to the sport, but after a quick rise into the amateur scene, it’s now time to show off his development.
The two will headline the amateur portion of the card with a lot on the line.
Morgan Lennon v Luke Havard
Acting as the amateur card’s co-main event is Morgan Lennon and Luke Havard. This 205lbs clash will welcome back Lennon to fighting after nearly three years out from MMA.
Lennon, who trains with the guys at Shore MMA, is a jiu-jitsu fighter with plenty of experience. His opponent, Havard, is coming in with a big opportunity to show off his ability.
Anything could happen in this interesting amateur bout.
Jay Aspinwall v David Winiarski
Undefeated prospects Jay Aspinwall and David Winiarski are one amateur scrap you won’t want to miss.
Swansea’s Aspinwall is 2-0, with both coming by way of finish. Winiarski is 4-0, and both were featured on CWAW7 also in Ebbw Vale. Fans in attendance will be treated to two excellent amateurs, with one of theirs 0’s set to turn to 1.
Jordan Little v Kane Darcy
Experienced amateur, Jordan Little, will take on the rising prospect Kane Darcy in yet another exciting matchup.
Little is 8-6 and fights out of Range MMA. He has already had six fights in 2022 and is set to make the seventh a big one. His most recent experience came at the Four Nation Championships, where he picked up the silver trophy after narrowly losing in the final to Kunle Lawal.
Darcy, who also won the silver in the Championships, is another prospect coming out of Shore MMA. His record stands at 5-3, and he has made a number of appearances in Ebbw Vale too. He is a strong and powerful wrestler with a lot of skills in his arsenal.
Ioan Thomas v Kacper Zduncyzk
It’s time for Cage Warriors fans to witness “The Future” as Ioan Thomas takes on Kacper Zduncyzk.
Undefeated amateur Thomas is ready to cash in on his biggest opportunity to date. The 16-year-old is 4-0 and one of the biggest prospects in Welsh MMA. After his most recent victory in June, he now has the chance to showcase his skills to Cage Warriors fans across the world.
Zduncyzk has a lot of experience inside the cage. A record of 3-7 and fighting out of Lions Den in England. This is his second time appearing on a Cage Warriors card after appearing at CW108 in 2019.
The Pole will take on Thomas, who could be about to make a very big statement.
Ethan Silvey v Ellis Richards
Kicking off the amateur portion of the card will be bantamweights Ethan Silvey and Ellis Richards.
Silvey comes into this looking to pick up his second win of the year after his victory against Rickie George at Budo 47 in February. A product of the MAT Academy, he has finished every one of his victories.
Richards is another undefeated fighter on the card. A 2-0 record, and both fights ended by way of the triangle choke. Don’t let this guy get you to the ground.
