On the 25th of June, at the Rainton Arena, a talent stacked Almighty FC 26 card will come to life. Almighty FC is aiming to be one of the most exciting regional MMA events this summer. The announcement of the lightweight bout between exciting amateur fighters Rodrigo Medina and Shaun Randall can only serve as a testament to that fact.
Rodrigo Medina vs Shaun Randall
Shaun Randall is 2-2-0 and fights out of the respected SBG Southshields gym. He debuted in 2019, agreeing to a bout with the equally untested Ross Walker. They fought for a decision which Shaun lost. Following a nearly two-year gap, owing in part to the global pandemic, he stepped into the octagon once again. Within six weeks of returning, he had fought twice, using his grappling advantage to record two first-round submissions. Hoping to make up for lost time and arriving in a purple patch, he took on Anas Nfaou in a very competitive bout. The fight went down to the wire, one judge scoring it Shaun’s way. Despite a second loss on his record, the fight is a credit to Shaun Randall’s ability to persist under duress.
Across the Octagon from Shaun will be Rodrigo Medina. The fighter is relatively inexperienced on the MMA circuit, having lost his recent debut fight. However, Rodrigo Medina has experienced some success as a BJJ practitioner. The Latin fighter won multiple gi and no-gi competitions in Norway, training out of Fighters Lab.
The lightweight bout is likely to make for a technical battle between two strong grapplers, both coming off of a loss and looking to build a winning streak.
