A flyweight scrap between Samir Faiddine and Shajidul Haque was recently announced via ARES FC’s Facebook.
The pair will face off at ARES 8, taking place at Le Dome de Paris on September 2nd.
ACE MMA’s Haque looks to expand on a three-fight win streak built up on British promotion Almighty FC, while Faiddine looks for a winning streak of the same number.
Alexandra Tekenah and Ivana Petrovic are headlining the card who fight for the flyweight belt.
The card is available for viewing through UFC Fight Pass for those eager to watch. This will be the French-based promotion’s 8th event in under three years.
Samir Faiddine vs Shajidul Haque
Samir Faiddine (14-8-0) will have his third fight of 2022 when he takes on Shajidul Haque in September. Following a small stint with Cage Warriors, which saw him go 1-2 in the promotion, Samir headed to UAE Warriors, where he got himself back in the win column by beating Hicham Rachid. Next, a move to fight in his home country of France saw him on Ares FC 5, where he beat Leonardo De Oliveira via decision.
A second win in the 125-pound division could put him within touching distance of a fight for the current vacant Flyweight belt, so a win here for Samir would be huge.
Shajidul Haque (13-5-0) is currently on one of the best win streaks of his career and will only be looking to add to it against Faiddine. Starting out his pro MMA career at 22 years old, Haque frequently appeared on Cage Warriors cards his early career, making himself known as an emerging Flyweight on the UK MMA scene.
After fighting on other notable UK MMA promotions, Shajidul most recently found success at Almighty FC, where he first beat Aaron Robinson and then captured the Flyweight belt with a TKO win over Igor Wojtas. Shajidul defended his belt once when he finished Elliott Hoye.
This is a big fight for Shajidul, where he steps into enemy territory and tries to cause an upset.
