Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is coming off a massive win against Jermell Charlo this past Saturday at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas. The Mexican fighter looked tremendous and dominated the fight from start to finish. Many critics said that Canelo is past his best, but it is safe to say that after Saturday, he has proven all those people wrong. People hoped we might see Canelo take on Terence Crawford, yet that fight doesn’t look like it will happen anytime soon.

Canelo is one of the greatest boxers ever stepping inside a ring. He has created quite the legacy by taking on and beating most of the top names in the sport. Canelo has fought over 60 times professionally and is currently the undisputed super-middleweight champion. As previously stated, many people thought Canelo was past his best. However, he demolished Charlo and put all those critics to bed. The 33-year-old is known for being a slow starter in his fights, yet in this one, he came out a lot more aggressive than he usually does. It was a statement win for Canelo on Saturday, and he doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Here’s what Canelo had to say about the Charlo fight at the post-fight press conference.
“Nobody can beat this Canelo.
“We know he’s a great fighter. He knows how to move in the ring.
“We worked on attacking the body for three months. For three months in the mountains without my family, without everything.
“I wasn’t disappointed not to get the knockout. I feel great. That’s why we fight 12 rounds.
“If I don’t get the knockout, I get 12 rounds to show I’m the best and the better fighter. That’s why it’s 12 rounds, to show who’s better.”
Canelo on Crawford Fight
Crawford is one of the best boxers in the sport today, and like Canelo, he has created quite a legacy for himself. The American fighter has a professional record of 40-0. Canelo talks about the matchup.
“If the fight makes sense, go ahead.
“But right now, the fight with Terence Crawford doesn’t make sense. I just won, let me enjoy this.
“This is Canelo, and I’m finally back. I feel great and happy because I haven’t felt like this in a long time. I’m back.”
