Sayem Hoque is gearing up for an impactful 2024 campaign as he prepares to drop down weights at Unity Fighting Championship.
The Dolphin Centre in Darlington will play host for some of the most exciting and up-and-coming talents in the country on February 17th, and if you want to be in attendance, you better be fast.
Sayem Hoque is set to clash with Michael White in a fight that promises to deliver. Ahead of battle we caught up with Hoque who’s ready for a new challenge.
Sayem Hoque Gears Up For an Impactful 2024
Sayem, a strong debut your year in 2023, moving to 2-0 and with one stoppage. Upon reflection, talk to me about your year and how pleased you are.
I’m very happy with my year overall. I’ve gone through some solid camps, and I’ve improved my game massively; going into 2024, I can’t wait to go out, show everyone my improvements and keep performing.
You found success on your amateur debut on Unity FC against Joe Toone. However, this time on the show, you’ll be dropping weight. Talk me through that decision and how much you feel it’s going to benefit you moving forward.
Yeah, so the plan is to keep dieting down and moving down a weight class each fight till I feel like I’m at my best weight. Going down a weight, I’m going to be a lot stronger, healthier and a lot faster, so be ready to see a different beast in February.
Scotland’s Michael White is the man who will stand in your way and try to spoil your clean start to 2024. What do you know about your opponent, if anything, and what are you expecting from him?
I expect him to come out fast, but I’m more than ready for anything. The Coaches at Ace MMA prepare me for anything and everything. We are both young, hungry amateurs, so this one is going to be a fight not to be missed.
What Is Left to Show
In your first fight, you took the decision. In the second, you stopped your opponent in the first. Is there anything we’ve not gotten to see that you hope to display in Darlington on Feb. 17?
Maybe a submission? Haha, like I said, my team at ACE have got me ready for anything; if the fight stays on the feet, I’ll dominate striking, and if the fight goes to the ground, I’ll dominate on the ground.
Finally, you know we love an official prediction. Hit me: what can we expect from you, and how do you get it done?
It’s going to be a good fight, expect fireworks for this one, but at the end of it, you will see my hand get raised.
