Two Scottish talents will represent their country this weekend at EFC 95 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Higher Level Martial Arts duo Keir Harvie (5-2-0) and Mark Ewen (2-0-0) both look to add wins to their record at the EFC Performance Institute. At 145 pounds, Harvie takes on Vince Bembe (3-1-0), while Ewen takes on Adrian Sanchez (3-2-0) at 155 pounds.
The South African based promotion have an 11 bout MMA card ready for this weekend, headlined by Igeu Kabesa and Nerick Simoes fighting for the featherweight strap.
The card begins at 1:00pm on Saturday, 16th July for those in the UK and 2:00pm local time.
Keir Harvie vs Vince Bembe
Keir Harvie will have his third fight with EFC this weekend, looking to rebound from a decision loss against Nerick Simoes in his last fight. Before making the switch to fight in South Africa, Keir flashed a 4-1 pro MMA record, three of those wins coming via finish.
He has recorded wins in promotions such as On Top, The Art of Combat, Evolution of Combat and even Cage Warriors, where he finished Manny Akpan in round 1 via Arm Triangle submission. Harvie has a slick submission game, something that everyone should look out for on Saturday.
Vince Bembe began fighting as a pro in 2021, when he made his pro debut at EFC 87. In his first fight, he beat Given Majuba via Von Flue Choke submission, proving he poses a threat on the ground as well.
Following his debut, he fought three more times under EFC when he beat Warren Richards via KO, recorded his first loss to Bradley Swanepoel when he lost via submission, then returned and beat Trezeguet Kanyinda via decision.
Mark Ewen vs Adrian Sanchez
Mark Ewen will be off home soil for the first time in his career this weekend when he takes on Adrian Sanchez. Ewen has two wins on his pro record, both coming via finish. In his pro MMA debut, he beat Michael Blair via 2nd round KO, then one month later fellow up and comer Tom Mullen met the same fate at the hands of Mark. His amateur record is not to be ignored, gathering 11 wins between 2016 and 2020, all coming via finish.

His opponent Adrian Sanchez is currently on a high after beating Chris Dove via 1st round guillotine submission in December of 2021. Other wins on his record include a split decision against Roderique Kena and a TKO victory against Christian Bobo Mpia. His mixed style of K1, Muy Thai and Wrestling, makes for a fantastic matchup will another solid all-rounder in Mark Ewen.
