Cage Warriors has announced a flyweight matchup between Scott Malone and Andy Young for their Belfast event. Cage Warriors 140 will occur in the SSE arena on 25th June and can be found live on UFC Fight Pass.
Fights are continuing to get announced in the lead up to the event. However, the main event features a banger of a welterweight title fight between Rhys McKee and Justin Burlinson, which is worth the ticket money alone.
Scott Malone
Scott Malone (9-5) returned to compete under the Cage Warriors banner for his second stint in 2021, where he stopped Serdar Atlas in round two at Cage Warriors 125.
When looking to make it four on the bounce, the Scotsman dropped a frustrating split decision to Dylan Hazan at Cage Warriors 129, who made it difficult to fight with a lay and pray approach.
Malone has shared the cage with some of the best in the business, such as UFC bantamweight Jack Shore. The Higher Level fighter has a wealth of knowledge and skill to make it a tough night at the office for anyone. Expect no different when faced off against Andy Young.
Andy Young
Andy Young returns with an (11-13) record and a three-year hiatus from the sport. The long-haul of inactivity came in the wake of a bad run of form, failing to secure a victory in his last five outings.
Don’t let the bad-run fool you. Young has acquired a bucketload of experience over the years of competition. ‘Taz’ has fought on top shows Cage Warriors, Bamma, Brave CF, defeating recognizable opponents, such as Cage Warriors current bantamweight champion Dominque Wooding and Aaron Aby.
The break from competing may have done wonders for Young and be exactly what he needed to find himself back in the win column. Cage Warriors 140, Belfast, we find out.
Who do you see leaving with the victory when Scott Malone clashes with Andy Young?
