UFC fans just simply can’t get enough of the new bantamweight champion. It is no wonder then that we have all been anticipating Sean O’Malley’s triumphant return. However we are going to have to wait until next year. After his incredible knockout of Aljamain Sterling, the ‘Suga’ show called out the one man who has a win over him. Sean O’Malley vs Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera was suspected to take place this December however the UFC had different plans for UFC 296 as the long awaited welterweight bout between Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington has taken center stage over O’Malley.
Sean O’Malley Talks on the Joe Rogan Experience.
On a recent appearance on the famous Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Sean O’Malley gave us some insight into what is happening with his UFC return. ‘I really, really did truly want to fight in December. Like when I called out ‘Chito’ in December, but I talked to UFC and they kind of already had plans. They were trying to get Colby and Leon together. I asked them (the UFC)- they want me to main event my own show, which i think it’s f*****g dope.
He continued; ‘I’m down with that. I think UFC 300 is in April. That would be a sweet card to be on, but again, they’re not going (to want me as a main event). I’m going to guess (I’ll fight) before that, before UFC 300.’
