Tim Welch, Sean “Suga” O’Malley’s coach, believes once Sterling feels the power O’Malley caries, he will have to take big risks.
UFC 292 this Saturday is headlined by Bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, as he tries to defend his belt for the fourth time against superstar Sean O’Malley. “Funk Master” already holds the record for most title defences in bantamweight history. Whilst “Suga” could become the biggest name superstar in the UFC since Connor McGregor. This all goes down at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
Sterling to Make Mistakes and Huge Risk Again O’Malley?
Tim Welch was on Submission Radio and described how the fight may go down. He shared his thoughts on what could be the path of victory for his long-time fighter, Sean, to defeat Aljamain. However, it is not what O’Malley will do, it is what Aljamain will risk.
“Everyone’s game plan against Sean has been pin him against the cage and try to take him down,” Tim said. “But I think Aljo is such a good athlete. He’s so funky that he’s going to take risks, and he’s going to try to grab Sean. He’s going to take a big risk. “I think especially once he feels something buzz by his face or crack him a little bit, he’s going to be diving at Sean’s legs,”
“And that’s also going to be able to open up the knockout for us. Sean can knock people out with every one of his limbs, so if he lunges in at the wrong time, he could get some knuckles bounced off his chin, and it could be the end of the night.”
