Sean Strickland has made quite the name for himself recently. He shocked the sports world by dethroning Israel Adesanya in Australia. Yet, his title reign ended after a split decision loss to Dricus du Plessis this past Saturday at UFC 297. After the fight, Strickland took to social media to discuss what he liked to do after fighting.
The Entertaining Sean Strickland
Strickland is a fantastic fighter with much to say outside of the Octagon. The American is always open about saying what he thinks. This has led him to say some controversial things. Inside the Octagon, he has achieved a lot, such as winning a world championship. He is coming off a hard-fought battle with du Plessis, and many people fought. He should have been the victor in the contest, including Dana White. Here is what the boss had to say about the contest.
“I had it 2-2 going into the last round, and I thought that Sean Strickland won the last round. Guys who were sitting at the same table had it the other way. It was a close fight,” he added.
“I thought Strickland looked great in the first two rounds. The jab was f****** beautiful. You don’t see jabs like that in MMA. The jab accomplished its intended purpose. Both of [Du Plessis’] eyes were swelling shut. He slowed down in the third and fourth. Du Plessis kept coming forward and then started mixing takedowns and punches.

His Plan After Fighting
After the fight, Strickland took to X to say what he wanted to do after fighting.
“After I’m done fighting in a few years and have a lot of money, I will probably run for public office,” he wrote. I’ll never win, but I’d rather do something I care about instead of starting a CBD company, lmao.”
Yet, it seems Sean Strickland won’t stop anytime soon.
After MMA…. I have a lot more wars in me… Until then, I’ll speak for you guys in the cage.”
