Sean Strickland injured himself on Monday as he attempted to perfect a wheelie on his motorcycle.
Sean Strickland Injured Via Motorcycle Wheelie
Being no stranger to motorcycle incidents, Strickland recorded himself on his Instagram story post-fall to let fans know that he still cannot wheelie. Although he was hit by a van at 45 miles per hour back in 2018 on his motorcycle, this accident was thankfully a lot less serious.
In a story before his injury announcement, Strickland said: “You guys, I just learnt how to f*cking wheelie!”
Minutes later, a story followed with the former UFC middleweight champion in his garage. He said: “Well you guys, I got a little overconfident. I was riding the Balance Point, I was doing it, I was keeping it up, kept doing it, then went a little too far back. Training today is gonna f*cking suck. But, I’m an idiot. I flipped my bike, gotta man up and train.”
Waiting For The Winner of Dricus Du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya
After losing his belt to Dricus Du Plessis in January, the number one-ranked middleweight came back successfully five months later.
Even before getting the better of Paulo Costa at UFC 302, belief was instilled in Strickland that he deserves a one-way ticket back to title contention and reasoned why.
Four months ago on X, the 33-year-old said: “You know I don’t care about fight politics or a belt but it makes me laugh they give Izzy a rematch to Alex after getting slept. I lost a close decision that Dana himself thought I won. Everyone did. The stats did. That needs to be run back.”
No matter the winner of Du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya, Strickland is certainly a worthy opponent for either. The question remains, who will he face and what is the hardest test for him?
