Xtreme Couture saw a battle for the ages as No. 7 middleweight Sean Strickland faced a fan in the cage. Strickland, whilst only putting in 70% of his power, predictably dominated the troll. Despite that, Strickland admitted he was impressed.
Strickland Fan Fight
Strickland and MMA fan only known as “Johnny” sparred in the cage in shinguards and boxing gloves. Despite the UFC’s Chris Curtis admitting it was probably not for the best, the two went ahead with the fight. “Johnny’ managed to land one or two shots and a big leg kick, but other than that, it was all Strickland. The UFC fighter knocked down the fanboy twice, and called it a day afterwards.
Strickland is well known for his social media presence. Known for being outspoken, Strickland is known to interact with fans online, and often invites them to spar in his gym. However, it is rare that the invitee accepts the offer.

Strickland vs Magomedov
Sean Strickland headlines this Saturday’s event at the Apex UFC Vegas 76. Johnny’s sparring against Strickland will surely help him prepare for his 5 round bout against unranked Abusupiyan Magomedov. The middleweight contender is now 13-6 in the Octagon, 1-2 in his last 3. Strickland is coming off of the back of a win against Nassourdine Imavov on short notice in January, headlining 4 out of 5 of his last events. With Johnny now joining the gym, he will have a new training partner to practice with.
This will only be Abus Magomedov’s second appearance in the Octagon, recently beating Dustin Stolfzus with a first round TKO. An interesting piece of matchmaking, the German-Dagestani will shoot up the rankings to the top ten with a win over the stoic Strickland. Only time will tell how beneficial the gamble will be for the UFC in the long run.
