Interview With Sebastian Pisarczyk
Sebastian, you’re all set to return to the cage this weekend. How are you feeling physically and mentally?
I’m all set and ready to return, physically and mentally. I am ready and excited to finally be back.
It’s been a tough time lately for you, having dropped your last three. Where are your mindset and motivation levels?
Yeah, it’s not the best feeling when you lose a few in a row, but that has also motivated me to work harder, and my mindset is to just go in and have a good fight and enjoy the night.
The last three have been good fights; it’s not as if you’re being dominated, and you’ve shown some great flashes. What do you feel’s going wrong, and how have you implemented change ahead of Saturday night?
I agree the fights have been really interesting. What I felt was going wrong was that lack of urgency to finish fights and try to win decisions which didn’t go in my favour. To improve on that, I’ve been working on all parts of my game to bring up that ability to finish fights.
First Fight of 2023
You’ve had a break of inactivity and not been out this year. Why is that, and is it down to just working in the gym, getting better, to return to winning ways?
I did take time off from fighting to focus on improving my overall game and to improve my fitness and strength.
Can you give us a tease? What new skills can we expect from you? In what area do you say you’ve levelled up the most?
I can tell you that I improved wrestling, striking, and submissions, but I’m looking forward to displaying it all.
What would it mean to you to return to the win column on Saturday night and take a bit of relief off your shoulders heading into 2024?
It would mean a lot to return to the winning column. I’m hungry for that win. It would also obviously take a lot of pressure off my shoulders heading into 2024. I am planning to fight at least three times next year, so it would give me that confidence boost heading into 2024.
I would like to give a massive shout-out and thank Butterfields Barnsley for sponsoring me and helping me out massively through this fight camp.
