Sebastian Pisarczyk is entering his upcoming bout at Almighty Fighting Championship 28, grateful that he still gets to display his skill set.
The amateur MMA fighter was faced with a pull-out just three weeks out from fight night. Ray Thompson was able to find Pisarczyk with a replacement. It may have affected the preparations slightly, but the Submission MMA athlete is raring to go and ready to compete.
Pisarczyk currently stands at (2-1) in his young career after dropping his last two. That being said, the young man realises the amateur circuit is for growth and development and remains unconcerned about results.
We had the opportunity to speak with Sebastian Pisarczyk before he makes the walk for the fourth time in his career. Check out the full interview below.
Interview With Sebastian Pisarczyk
Just a few weeks out, having a fight cancelled, all the hard work was banked, and the uncertainty of not competing. What have the emotions been like in the lead-up to Almighty FC 28? How difficult has it been for you to remain dialled in?
It was pretty difficult to think about the fight being cancelled . As I put so much effort into the preparation. Still, the uncertainty only lasted a few days as a replacement was found quickly.
Has the last-minute opponent switch affected your preparations at all?
It has slightly affected the preparations. I had a game plan ready for my previous opponent, that pulled out.
You’ll now face Mostafa Sarwari. What do you know about your last-minute opponent, if anything? Have you looked into him at all?
Currently, there’s nothing that I know about my opponent other than it is his debut. Also the gym he fights out of.
Sebastian Pisarczyk Talks Previous Bouts
Your amateur career started really well with a win over Mason Shatwell. However, you’ve dropped your last two bouts. What do you feel’s went wrong in the latest two bouts?
In my last two fights that I lost, I think it was the lack of confidence and listening to my corner. I was fighting against two very good guys from respectable gyms.
What key components have you learnt from your last fight that you hope to implement on Saturday 26th of November?
Key components that I have learnt from two previous fights are to not leave it to the judges and to always create pressure. It benefits my style more and makes it more effective.
How important are wins and losses for you at this stage of your career, or are you just completely focussed on getting valuable experience and growing?
At this stage of my career, it’s mostly about experience. That’s why I try to fight as much as I can. This will be my 4th fight this year. At this stage, wins and losses really don’t matter as the amateur level is to gain experience and build up confidence before turning pro.
Is there anything in your last two that you’ve been unable to showcase that you hope to put on display at Almighty FC 28?
One thing that I would love to showcase at AFC 28 is my ground game and pressure. It was on show in my previous fight, but it wasn’t as proficient as it is at the moment after improving and implementing a few changes.
Can we finish with an official fight prediction?
It’s really hard to predict as my opponent is a debut. I’ll hopefully be able to showcase an improved ground game and pressure and finish the fight with a submission.
