Shakur Stevenson is now looking for a replacement for the ‘Last Crescendo’ card after Floyd Schofield pulls out.
WBC Lightweight world champion Shakur Stevenson is now without a opponent for the February 22nd card.
It was revealed by The Ring magazine that Floyd Schofield would not be competing on Saturday night.
The British Board of Boxing Control announced that Schofield had suffered a illness and will not be able to take to the ring.
The Ring tweeted out on X.
“The Ring has learned that WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson is hunting for a late replacement. Floyd Schofield has fallen ill, and was pulled from the fight by the British Boxing Board of Control.”
The announcement caught most by surprise but Shakur had weirdly predicted that Schofield was looking for a way out.
“I’m actually scared that they(Floyd Scofield) won’t show up to the fight & I’m going to put in all this work in for nothing. “
Shakur also reiterated that Floyd was looking for a excuse.
“I just feel like they looking for an excuse…looking for a way out”

Shakur Stevenson Will Fight On Saturday-
Shakur and the Turki Alalshikh team are now looking into opponents.
The two potential opponents to face Stevenson are being reported as Josh Padley and Moussa Gholam.
Josh Padley is a English boxer with a 15-0 record and has already appeared on a Riyadh show.
He beat fan favourite Mark Chamberlain on Dubois vs Joshua.
Moussa Gholam is a Moroccan boxer with a 22-1 record with his only loss coming in a away show in Russia to Elnur Samedov.
It is likely that the new short notice opponent will be paid handsomely for the risk and will have a wonderful opportunity to take on a world champion.
This is another in a long list of unlucky strikes in Shakur’s short but illustrious career so far.
Despite the pullout Stevenson vs Schofield was the most one sided bout of the card with some sports books having Schofield as a 14-1 underdog.
Whoever the replacement maybe, they will be joining a card which has been touted as the greatest in boxing history.
