Yesterday, Evolution of Combat announced the first bout of their upcoming show on February 19th.
Submission Factory’s Shaun Conway and Crowning Glory MMA’s Yusuf Kurt will clash in an amateur featherweight contest, which has Scottish fans excited. Evolution of Combat 11 will occur in the Maryhill Community Centre Halls in Glasgow, Scotland.
As always, with an EOC show, the night will consist of MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and submission-only grappling.
If the rest of the fight announcements are anything like the first, fans in attendance can expect a good night.
Shaun Conway vs. Yusuf Kurt
Shaun Conway (3-0) aims to keep his perfect amateur record intact when squaring off with “The Turkish Delight on Feb.19. The twenty-five-year-old hasn’t been as active in recent years, with his last registered outing taking place at the back end of 2020.
Conway is no stranger to the Evolution of Combat cage, having previously fought twice for the promotion. He defeated Icelandic native Remek Duda Maríusson and Mak Reeder both by unanimous decision. Between those, the Sub Factory fighter did secure a rear-naked-choke victory over Damian Turcza at On Top Promotions.
Young prospect Yusuf Kurt (2-1) has been a great addition to the Scottish amateur ranks and proved he has a killer instinct when inside the cage.
Last August saw Kurt begin his journey in the sport, and he didn’t waste any time showing the EOC audience what he’s capable of. Kurt submitted Craig Campbell and tucked his first victory under his belt.
The seventeen-year-old wasted no time on throwing himself back into competition. One month post-Kurts debut victory, he added another win to his column. This time by unanimious decsion.
However, it hasn’t all been plain-sailing for “The Turkish Delight” as in his latest outing at Rise and Conquer 9. He was disqualified in his bout with MacKenzie Liddle.
This scheduled contest is one to look forward to, especially for the Scottish MMA scene. We have two young, game and hungry athletes looking to prove their skill-set is better than the other.
