Stefan Vesca is confident in finishing Ede Jakab Jr. at Almighty Fighting Championship 33.
Almighty FC 33 is just around the corner after the promotion’s successful show in Deeside at the start of the month. Ray Thompson and Liam Cann will make the Metrodome in Barnsley their home on Saturday, 25th November. The card is stacked with up-and-coming amateur action, amateur title fights, and professional contests.
Vesca is set to headline the card and challenge for the promotion’s amateur lightweight belt against the undefeated Ede Jakab Jr. Both men are entering the fight undefeated, high on confidence and momentum.
Prior to making the walk for the biggest fight of his amateur career, we had the opportunity to catch up with Stefan Vesca. Hear what he had to say below.
Interview With Stefan Vesca
Stefan, you’re coming into the fight 3-0 with three very different and positive performances. You’ve showcased that you can punch, find submissions, and go the distance and rely on your gas tank to hold up. With that said, how satisfied are you with your game at the minute?
I’m training every day, and I’m trying my best to keep myself in good shape. I’m very satisfied with my fights at the moment, but of course, I’m working hard to be my best version.
Many are looking at you vs. Ede Jakab Jr. as the fight to watch and stay in their seats for. How excited are you to get in there as two undefeated fighters and lock horns with one another?
I’m confident about this fight, and I wish good luck to my opponent, but I will show the public who is the best.
Ede has five straight decision victories under his belt since turning to the amateur circuit. Give me your honest thoughts on him and the style he brings to the cage.
I know my opponent is a good fighter and a good wrestler. He usually uses his wrestling skills, but I don’t think this will work in our fight.
Fighting for Gold
This fight on Nov. 25 isn’t just any normal fight. It’s a title fight. How happy were you when you got the call to say you’d be taking on the champ?
I got really excited when I found out about the title fight, but I got more excited when they told me this was the main event; all my friends and family would be there to support me, so this is very important for me.
Almighty FC is the promotion you debuted in, and you’ve found success on the show in your second amateur fight. What would it mean to you to hold the promotion’s belt, given the fact you’ve fought under their banner twice?
I am very grateful, and I want to thank Almighty FC for giving me the chance to become a champion in their promotion. And I promise I’m not going to disappoint.
I don’t expect you to give away Ede’s weaknesses that you aim to exploit, but tell me, what’s he good at? Which area do you feel you need to be cautious in?
I think he will try to use his wrestling skills because he is good at it, and I don’t mind. I’m very ready.
Finally, we love an official prediction. How does Stefan Vesca vs. Ede Jakab Jr. unfold at Almighty FC 33?
I think this fight will not get to the decision because I want to finish this guy.
