Stipe Miocic will take on Jon Jones for the UFC heavyweight championship on the stacked UFC 295 card at the legendary Madison Square Garden arena in November. It is an intriguing matchup as they are both legendary fighters in the sport and have been in the biggest fights in UFC history. It will be Jones’ first defence of the title, and he faces a true challenge in Miocic.
The Legendary Career Of Stipe Miocic
As previously stated, Miocic is a legendary fighter and has had some monumental performances throughout his time in the UFC. He has a professional record of 20-4 with 15 finishes. Why Has He Come Back Now
After the loss to Ngannou, Miocic took a couple of years off. There has always been much talk about him returning to fight Jones for the title. However, now he has decided to come back, it is interesting to hear the reason why. Miocic elaborates on this when speaking to MMA Junkie.
“There’s a lot of reasons,” Miocic told MMA Junkie Radio. “One, I want to fight the best. I’m a competitor. I love to compete, and I love fighting. I’m still having fun.
“Two, my last fight didn’t go as well as I wanted. I’m ready to bounce back and get that win.”
