Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich are set to clash in a heavyweight barnburner and aim to continue keeping the rest of the division on their toes.
MMA Junkie was the first to report the booking. The pair will take the co-headliner slot on December 3rd in Orlando, Florida, at the Amway Center. Tuivasa enters the contest, currently ranked No. 4 in the heavyweight division, while Pavlovich is breathing down Tuivasa’s neck at No.5.
Tai Tuivasa vs. Sergey Pavlovich
Tuivasa looks to bounce back quickly after suffering a third-round knockout loss in a fight for the ages at UFC Paris against Ciryl Gane. The defeat closed the curtain on the Aussie’s magnificent five-fight win streak, which saw him bag knockouts over Stefan Struve, Harry Hunsucker, Greg Hardy, Augusto Sakai, and Derrick Lewis. A statement over Pavlovich would throw his name straight back into title contention.
Pavlovich enters the bout riding a hot streak of momentum, winning his last four in the first round. After failing to make his UFC debut a successful outing in 2018 against Alistair Overeem, the Russian has run through everyone in his patch. December 3rd will mark the thirty-year-olds third outing of the year, having beat Shamil Abdurakhimov and Derrick Lewis convincingly.
The UFC’S return to Orlando is headlined by a fan-friendly main event between Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland.
