Teofimo Lopez is in talks to sign a three-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh according to Bob Arum.
Lopez is in talks to sign a multi-fight deal which could lead to a mega fight with the winner of Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia.
The past week of boxing news has been dominated by Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney but one man who wants his name in the Welterweight hat is Teofimo Lopez.
After Garcia and Haney both announced fights and paths which could lead to an October showdown, Lopez asked for his piece of the pie.
It seems like Lopez is in talks to get the piece he wants which would include a three-fight deal culminating in a battle with the winner of October’s potential showdown.
Bob Arum has said this week Lopez is in negotiations for a similar three-fight deal like Garcia and Haney.
“The Saudis stepped up to the plate and Top Rank is pleased with the offer. Now it’s up to Teofimo… I think Teofimo will like the package the Saudis have presented.”
The deal seems to take a similar path to Garcia and Haney with Teofimo Lopez taking on two opponents and providing he gets through those he will face the winner of the October main event.
