PFL 3 happened on Friday, April 20th from Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Welterweights and Featherweights were looking to put on a show and Thad Jean started the show with style. This is due to Jean brutally knocking out Roman Debienne in the card’s 1st fight of the night. The stoppage came 2 minutes and 7 seconds into the first round with Romain Debienne faceplanting the canvas.
Thad Jean Knocked out Romain Debienne
The first fight of the evening would see Debienne taking the centre of the octagon and pushing the pace. His right hands were landing against Thad Jean as were his leg kicks. However, Thad Jean was able to slow the pace of the fight down and was able to answer the right hands with a thudding left hook. Thad Jean was then able to do a solid body kick. Debienne would then pump out his jab to try and land his hard low kick. Thad Jean was then able to block a high kick attempt from Debienne and answered with a right hook which wobbled Debienne. Thad Jean was then able to follow this up with an uppercut which knocked Romain Rebienne out cold!!!!
Bright Future Ahead
This will only help Jean and will put himself into contention for a place in the regular season next time. This was Thad Jean’s third victory inside the smart cage. Jean was able to clinch a decision victory against Eric Alequin in the challenge series. Jean was able to follow this up with a 1st round knockout against Ali Omar. This was as the featured prelim in the playoff card last year. If Jean isn’t offered a place in the regular season I can see him being offered a place on PFL Europe in a bid to be able to clinch the title. Whatever the future holds for Jean he is a bright and talented fighter who was able to produce an incredible knockout.
