It has been confirmed that Ian Garry (8-0 MMA record) will face Darian Weeks in his second UFC outing. The two Welterweights come face to face at UFC 273 on 9th April 2022.
The undefeated Irishman made a big statement with a knockout victory over Jordan Williams on his debut at UFC 268 after a nervy start to the round. Afterwards, he proclaimed this was the Irish “takeover part two.”
Fighting out of the Sanford MMA gym Ian Garry has given himself every platform to succeed. A win against Weeks will move ‘the future’ closer to his end goal – UFC gold.
It is no coincidence that Garry will have featured on pay per view cards on his first two UFC outings. He has shown many similarities to his Irish counterpart Conor McGregor, and Dana White clearly likes what he sees. The former Cage Warriors champion oozes confidence and has a real opportunity to become a poster boy for the promotion down the line. With six of his eight victories being stoppages, the future looks bright for Ian Garry in the UFC.
Do you think Ian Garry has the potential to become a star in the UFC?
