Enson Inoue Foundation
One of Enson’s passions has been actively helping the people of northern Japan.
Because people are still living in temporary housing units after losing their possessions, and in many cases family, in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
But it was after over 40 missions, that Enson realised that help was needed.
So he decided to establish a non-profit organization EnsonInoueFoundation to better facilitate the missions, giving people an opportunity to get involved and help with such a worthy cause.
January 2023 saw 55-year old Enson and his wife Sarah Jane McCann complete a successful 61st mission.
This saw 58 pairs of shoes being bought and sent to an orphanage in Fukushima, Japan.
The abandoned animals of Fukushima are part of a larger mission Enson has undertaken, this alongside the help given to the victims of the Tohoku disaster.
Selflessly putting his own life at risk, for something that many wouldn’t have given a second thought.
Enson has never considered death as a reason not to continue.
In the below interview Enson talks with myself regarding why this is important for him.
Walk for Japan
On September 11, 2013 Enson Inoue embarked on a journey on foot of over 1,360 miles from Hokkaido to Kyushu.
The walk was to raise awareness for the plight of the victims of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The Walk took 67 days.
Words from Enson
“My missions will continue until the day I die because it is my calling on earth to help people.”
“A single candle can give light to thousands of others. The goal is to give light to as many candles as you can before your fire burns out.”
