Chung Sung Jung, The Korean Zombie, has had an incredible career inside the UFC octagon. Fans all around the world love him. Furthermore, he is a future UFC Hall of Famer. He has faced many great competitors in his time with the company. Yet, now that he is retired, he recalls his most memorable fight.
Chung Sung Jung AKA The Korean Zombie
The Korean Zombie is a legend in the sport. Jung got his nickname because no matter how much damage the Korean fighter would take, he would keep coming forward. Jung was adamant and durable and was a challenging outing for any opponent. He was spectacular to watch inside the Octagon, as his fights were always entertaining. Jung memorably had to take time away from fighting to serve in the military for his country. Sadly, the time he spent away; you could argue that he was in his prime. Zombie has achieved so much inside a UFC octagon, but the one thing Zombie couldn’t do was win a world title. You can argue that he missed the window when he sreved his time in the military. The Korean fighter gave everything he had to the sport, and fans will always love him.
His Legendary Career
He is one of the best featherweights that the UFC has ever seen. He has fought nearly all the featherweight division’s top contenders. In his penultimate fight, he took on the Australian champion Alexander Volkanovski, where he indeed showed how tough he was. Unfortunately, he came up short that night. His final fight was against Max Holloway. It was entertaining and it was clear that Jung gave it his all, but unfortunately, he came up short. The love he got from the fans in Singapore was sensational and truly reflects how the MMA world feels about The Korean Zombie.
Jung’s Favourite Fight
As previously stated, Jung has fought many great competitors in his time with the UFC. Names like Holloway, Volkanovski, and Yair Rodriguez are his best fights. On the MMA Hour, The Korean Zombie stated his favourite fight.
“My last fight,” TKZ said. “Everything was perfect. The timing, my opponent being Max Holloway, the audience, the crowd, and all the love they showed me, this fight is the only fight I have zero regrets after it was finished. Even though I lost by knockout, I have zero regrets, so it’s my most memorable fight.”
