Michael Bisping has the single greatest story in UFC history, and it’s coming to the big screen. The upcoming documentary focuses on the Englishman’s journey as he finally achieves his dreams after a long hard road. As “The Count” well knows, though, the documentary may have never been made had he given up when he was supposed to.
When I’m in the gym, different training partners tell me that I’ve got great conditioning, and I tell them, ‘Really? Because, I’m dying here.’ I think that I’m just as tired as anyone; I just push myself mentally.”
The film looks at “The Counts” career prior to his shock world title win, as well as the victory itself. A who’s who of MMA figures contribute, with the likes of Luke Rockhold, Joe Rogan and Georges St.Pierre all featuring. Now-retired, the commentator is still a busy man, with the UFC looking to him more and more as a key part of their commentary team, plus a highly anticipated speaking tour. Bisping is attacking post-fight life with just as much ferocity as his combat career.
The odds were never in his favour, but that never mattered. He is the example we should show to the world when asked what a born fighter looks like, and if the trailer is anything to go by, this film might be just the way to do it.
