Thomas Paull is now 11-3, with a 100% finishing rate following a viral KO of Perry Goodwin at GTFP 18 this weekend.
GTFP Double Champ
Since his last defeat, Paull has bounced back with two victories, claiming gold in each. First, finishing Mario Saeed for the 74kg belt, and now 70kg champion after shutting out Goodwin in the first round. Perry Goodwin is no easy comer, having challenged for Cage Warriors gold before. The two men started the fight with instant pressure being applied from both sides. Paull then separated the action with a leg kick before coming back in for more, landing that fatal left hook.
Goodwin was unconscious for several minutes before he was able to wake up, which made for a scary sight for those watching. The medical staff handled everything perfectly, and the referee in charge of the action stepped in to ensure no further damage.
100% Finishes for Thomas Paull
11 pro-MMA wins, all by finish. This stands out immediately, as Thomas Paull has always been game for who is in front of him. This kind of record has got to stand out to European MMA promotions, as he would prove to be a valuable asset to their roster. Bellator and Cage Warriors stand out for the “Juggernaut” promotions with deep divisions and plenty of compelling matchups for the regional superstar.
Following the viral KO victory, the question begs: who or what is next for Thomas Paull? Matchups with the likes of George Hardwick in Cage Warriors or Kane Mousah in Bellator stand out. He comes to bang and has no intention of leaving it to the judges. A high-paced matchup against somebody with a similar killer instinct would be the perfect welcome party for him to show what he is capable of.
Only time will tell what is next for Thomas Paull, but he is definitely a name to watch. Take a look below at his knockout of Perry Goodwin to see just how dangerous he is.
