Don’t miss UFC Vegas 72, this Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cody Durden vs Charles Johnson
Flyweights clash on the prelims as both these men pursue a ranking in the top 15. Cody Durden has had a mixed carer so far in the UFC with a record of 3-2-1, he is coming into the Apex on a two fight win streak looking to extend it against Charles Johnson. Durden brings an intense wrestling game with an urge to finish, of his 14 career wins 11 have come inside the distance. Former LFA champion Johnson lost last time out to Ode Osbourne in a close split decision, before then he had back to back wins over Jimmy Flick and Zhalgas Zhumagulov. This will be Johnson’s third fight of the year and his two bouts so far have been great. There is bad blood between the two and they have been going back and forth in the build up adding fuel to the fire.
Caio Borralho vs Michal Oleksiejczuk
Streaking prospect Caio Borralho will look for his first UFC finish this weekend against the experienced Pole Michal Oleksiejczuk. So far Borralho is perfect in the UFC with three fights and three wins all in his debut year 2022. With a black belt in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai it is inevitable ‘The Natural’ will soon find his finishing prowess either in his striking or in his ground game. Michal Oleksiejczuk has been in the UFC since 2017 and originally fought at 205lbs. Since coming down to middleweight ‘Hussar’ has had two wins his last being a first round finish of Cody Brundage. With both men on the fringes of the rankings a big finish here in the co main slot could propel them into the middleweight rankings.
Song Yadong vs Ricky Simon
The bantamweight pair headline the card in Las Vegas in what promises to be a phenomenal scrap however long it lasts. Both look to break into the top five of the division especially with the title up for grabs in a weeks time at UFC 288. They have eight bonuses between them and both have finishing credentials.
Elite wrestler Ricky Simon has been silently surging through the division and finds hismelf on a five fight win streak, his most notable against top UK fighter Jack Shore who was undefeated before meeting Simon. He is very much a dark horse of the division that could rapidly be in and around the title as he does have a win over current number one contender Merab Dvalishvili when the pair met in 2018.
Song Yadong is looking to rebound from a loss to one of the best strikers in the division Cory Sandhagen. At just 25 years of age the Chinese youngster has plenty of time to develop but he has impressed immensely in his career so far. With five bonuses in eleven UFC fights you can be sure he is a star rising and will be a main stay in headliners and on PPVs for years to come.
