UFC 282 boasts some of the year’s best matchups, with some of the best fighters in the promotion on the card. From prelims to the main event, UFC fans will have the abundant talent to watch this weekend.
However, although there are so many to choose from, here are three potential Fight Of The Night candidates.
UFC 282: Bryce Mitchell vs Illia Toporia
Both Bryce Mitchell and Illia Toporia are two of the most feared fighters at 145 lbs. Both are undefeated, and someone’s 0 must go. Toporia is re-entering featherweight following an insane knockout win at lightweight over Jai Herbert. The European was set to fight Edson Barboza two months before 282 and will be desperate to get back into the octagon.
‘Thug Nasty’ Bryce Mitchell hadn’t made the walk since March when he defeated Barbosa via unanimous decision. The Ultimate Fighter season 27 winner has an abundance of skill, boasting an array of grappling and striking abilities making this fight one to look out for at UFC 282.
Darren Till vs Dricuss Du Plessis
Darren Till is a fighter every MMA fan loves to watch. The Muay Thai specialist makes striking look easy with his fast kicks, sharp punches, and terrifying feints. Desperate to make his way back into the win column, Dricuss Du Plessis has got one dangerous man in front of him this weekend.
The same can be said about Du Plessis, however. The dangerous South African has been perfect in his UFC career so far. Although both have the grappling ability, this will likely be a striking affair that will please everyone in attendance this weekend.
Jan Blachowicz vs Magomed Ankelaev
Even before this was announced as the main event, this had fans excited. Two of the most dangerous light heavyweights on the planet go toe-to-toe for the 205lb belt this weekend, and fans cannot wait.
Blachowicz has one of the most impressive resumes in the promotion. Holding wins over Israel Adesanya, Corey Anderson, and Dominic Reyes, to say the least. The legendary ‘Polish Power’ has put various opponents to sleep, making him one of the most entertaining fighters around. The bout is made or broken for the former champion.
Magomed Ankelaev has been biding his time, waiting for a UFC title shot, and now he has his wish. Standing at 9-1 inside the UFC against some of the elite of 205lbs, Ankelaev has looked phenomenal since his loss to Paul Craig in 2018.
With massive implications in the 205lb division, neither fighter can afford to lose this short-notice title fight.
